Astute is celebrating after another fantastic Red Nose Day. We organised a range of fundraising events, which included a special pub quiz night, a pyjama day at work, cake sales, and a massive balloon race. A great many local businesses also contributed by providing us a range of great prizes for a special Red Nose Day Raffle. All told, Astute staff, friends and families raised a whopping £1,400 for Comic Relief over the course of the week – but the best was yet to come.
Two years ago, we were selected as one of Comic Relief’s hotline call centres for telephone donations, and we were immeasurably proud to be selected again for 2015 – and determined to beat our previous fundraising total. 70 of us stayed on to man the phones and we were all touched by the generosity of the British public – we helped raised tens of thousands of pounds on the night, with more than a few individual donations of £1,000 or more showing us just how much this charity means to people.
Supporting deserving charities is an important part of Astute’s philosophy, and to be once again at the heart of such a popular and dynamic cause as Comic Relief is a privilege and an honour. We are proud of our people for all their efforts in fundraising and in taking part on the night on the donation hotline, and we are very proud to be representing our industry and our town on the national stage for such an important charity.
